SL, BAN move closer to semifinal berth at Women’s Asia Cup 2024

The Women’s Asia Cup T20 saw Sri Lanka and Bangladesh secure victories against Malaysia and Thailand, respectively, bringing them closer to semifinal berths. Sri Lanka thrashed Malaysia by 114 runs, with Chamari Athapaththu scoring an unbeaten 119. Their bowlers then restricted Malaysia to 40 runs. In the second match, Thailand posted 96/9, with Nattaya Boochatham scoring 40. Bangladesh chased the target easily, reaching 100/3 in 17.3 overs, led by Murshida Khatun’s 50. Both teams now lead Group B with four points each.
